Still no Heatherette online for the UK!

So many people have emailed MAC, asking for the online release date and most people were told today. There is still no sign of it on the website though and some other people have been told tomorrow or even thursday! What a shambles!

UPDATE: IT IS ON NOW :)

I ordered both eyeshadow trios and Bonus Beat lipglass too!!!

I already have the fleshpot lippie from the PRO store :)

Hope it arrives soon!

MAC Pro Store Haul!!!

So my fiance was in London this weekend with work and I gave him some money and a list of what to get me !! He was sweet enough to run around a few stores for me LOL He even went to suss out what Juicy Couture stuff was on sale at Harrods 'cause he knows i love all that stuff! They had quite a bit, but it is so expensive here, that it still works out cheaper to get it shipped from America, even with the cost of shipping on top!!

  • Mixing Medium
  • 'Fleshpot' Lipstick
  • 'Poste Haste' Eyeshadow
  • 'Da Bling' Eyeshadow
  • 'Pink Freeze' Eyeshadow
  • 'Tilt' Eyeshadow
  • 231 Small Shader Brush (not in pic)
  • 15 Eyeshdaow Palette

I originally wanted 'Fleshpot' from the Heatherette collection, but I was sick of waiting! So after hearing that it is also a PRO lipstick shade, I decided to just get it now. I love it, it looks so natural on me and just beautiful! I also got a new Dior Toner as I was running low and some Bliss facewash, which is super hard to find where I live. So all in all it was a pretty great haul! My fiancee even got me a new Juicy Couture purse in Black from Harvey Nichols, as I have been wanting one to replace my worn out pink one for a while so I was over the moon with that!! While he was there he discovered that Harvey Nichols is the only store in the country that sell regular and PRO MAC items, but they didn't have all PRO items, just some, like the pan refills, but still really good to know!

Heatherette Stress

I was hoping that Heatherette would reach the UK today, or at least the UK MAC website but sadly not. A few people at Spektra have emailed MAC and been given different dates, which is so annoying. At the minute I think it is due to hit Selfridges on the 10th of April but who knows anymore. I am so worried I wont be able to get to a store that sells it and miss out :( Hopefully I can get it online before it sells out!!!!

Urban Decay Primer Potion....

... has the worst packaging design I have ever seen LOL. I love the actual product, it is great but after reading on the internet about the curved bottle making it difficult to get all of the product out, I decided to see for myself. It had been feeling a little empty lately, I was struggling to get enough product on the applicator, so as I already thought I may need to buy another, I guess I had nothing to lose really. Boy am I glad I had read about this though! My fiance sawed the bottle in half, from top to bottom and we were shocked at how much product was stuck inside the curved parts of it, this is where the applicator can't usually reach. We scraped the product into a MAC empty container that I bought from their website and the amount that could have just ended up in the bin is shocking! I will add photos soon, just waiting for my camera battery to recharge LOL!!

I would seriously advise anyone who thinks their bottle may be nearly empty to give this a go - you will be amazed!!!!

Makeup Wish List

There are a few things I am hoping to get soon, so I thought I would jot them down here. Some random guy on YouTube commented about this blog and stated I was a "dumb blonde obsessed with make-up". Well isn't that just wonderful, I mean I am a brunette but what difference does it make what colour my hair is and more importantly what does it have to do with him? I really wonder why some people don't have better things to do then talk rubbish but nevermind....

Wish List:
  • Chanel Foundation Brush £29.00
  • MAC Strobe Cream £19.50
  • MAC Strobe Lip Conditioning Stick (Beam) £10.50
  • A new MAC 239 Brush £17.00 (I can't manage with just one LOL)

That is all for now :)

Review: MAC Prep 'n 'Prime

So I got few things from the Prep 'n' Prime range, but I left out the eye shadow primer as I already use Urban Decay Primer Potion and I love that! I love this product and here is why...

SKIN: It is a nice cream, not too thick and a little goes a long way. It dries clear on your skin and leaves skin feeling like velvet! I couldn't stop touching my skin the first time I used it LOL My face felt velvety soft but also very smooth and this made an excellent base for foundation. I use a Dior liquid foundation and found it went on much better, my skin looked smoother and more even. My skin can be dry and I found this has helped a great deal, its like a final dose of moisture before make-up and has stopped my skin drying out through the day which is great! I sometimes use this product alone just to enhance my skin on those natural/lazy days and give it a smoother glowing look. 9/10

LASH: I have never used any kind of lash primer before as I always assumed my mascara was doing everything I needed. I was quite sceptical if I'm honest, but I have grown to really like this product. Applied before mascara, it makes my lashes look a bit fuller/longer and really does make the mascara apply better, I found I don't really get any clumps and my lashes look neater. I use a Dior mascara and I wont be without the Prep 'n' Prime now!!! 10/10

LIP: I was quite disappointed with this product, I don't really feel it helped at all. I sometimes have quite chapped lips and hoped this would help but it didn't feel or look any different to me and I tried it with a few different lipstick and glosses. It also snapped after a few days and I don't think I did anything too vigorous with it! It smelled lovely but that was about it for me, such a shame because others in this range were brilliant. This seemed to be similar to a cheap lip balm which I already had a few of... 3/10

Fafi is here - yay!!

So Fafi for MAC came out and Ichose a couple of things, just 2 as I am saving for Heatherette! I got the Fun 'n' Sexy lipstick and the Totally It lipglass which look amazing together!! The lipstick is bright pink with a purplely sheen to it and though it didn't have as goos a colour payoff as I hoped, topped with the lipglass it looked great!! I was a bit dissapointed with the other Fafi stuff, quads were a bit dull for my liking but the packaging is very cute!!

Review: Bliss - Fabulous Foaming Face Wash

This was the first product from Bliss that I ever tried and I am so glad I did! I wanted a product that exfoliated but wasn't too harsh on my skin for daily use and this one was perfect. The first thing I noticed was it smelled of bubble gum, but it doesn't say this on the packaging anywhere so maybe that is just me LOL! It is also a lovely pale blue colour with a gel like texture that is not too thick. I found a little goes a long way and this bottle seemed to last forever which is great, especially if people are unsure about spending £15.00 on a facial cleanser. It felt lovely on and didn't foam up that much, despite it's name. I used this for a few weeks and although I didn't see a major difference in my skin, (I suffer from quite dry skin at times and found this did help a little but nothing to write home about) it did always look clear and healthy. I would recommend this product as it does it's job, smells beautiful and lasts a long time.
Bliss - Fabulous Foaming Face Wash retails at £15.00 in the UK

Review: MAC Slimshine Lipstick

I was excited about this range as it promised a smooth yet non-stick finish that was similar to gloss. Now I have heard that you can get through one of these pretty quickly and this may indeed be the case as the lipstick itself is quite thin compare to others, hence Slimshine LOL. I was very happy to learn that Slimshine will be part of MACs permanent collection, so there is no need to worry about buying these in future. I was also impressed with the selection of shades available, there seems to be something for everyone! Paler pinks like Stem Rose are lovely, as well as Voile which is a shimmery gold. I purchased the two I heard good things about; Bare and Rock Out.

Bare is described by MAC as "light neutral pink with subtle gold pearl" while Rock Out is described as "clean bright blue pink with gold pearl". The lipsticks had a very creamy texture and did feel a little similar to gloss when worn, but not as tacky. They do have a wonderful shine to them which surprised me as in the actual containers they looked quite matte. I actually loved both shades I tried, Bare is perfect for a more neutral lip and Rock Out is a brilliant bright pink that adds a bit of fun to any look.

MAC Slimshine Lipsticks retail at £11.50 in the UK

So the site has been totally vamped up in a bright pink - yay! I am hoping to slowly build up lots of new visitors as I carry on reviewing make up and skincare products. I have a few things lined up to write about including:

  • Dior Addict Lipsticks

  • Bliss's Fabulous Foaming Face Wash

  • MAC Prep 'n' Prime Product Range

  • MAC Slimshine Lipsticks

Hope you will look forward to reading my reviews and please feel free to leave a comment :)

Review: Honey Snap Out Of It Scrub - Benefit

So here is my first product review - yay!! I love makeup and skincare so I thought I could review products on my blog and hopefully help out anyone who wishes to read.... let's begin!
So I decided to buy this as exfoliating is good for your skin, since it takes away all the dead skin cells. I heart most things Benefit so thought this was a good a brand as any to try out. Now this stuff smells delicious but looks a little grainy, now don't worry, those little grains are gonna do all the work for you! The first time I tried this I used it as a face mask, you can do that or use it as a facial scrub, 2 or 3 times a week. I put the product over my face, avoiding my eye area and left it on for 3 minutes. While it was on, it didn't feel to tight like masks sometimes do, it wasn't too sticky either, just felt pretty comfortable. My fiance thought I looked dumb but he is a boy and doesn't understand these things LOL!
After the 3 minutes were up, I massaged the product over my face with a little warm water. As I did this, it felt really nice and I could really feel the little exfoliating bead working! I then used a damp flannel to gently wipe over my face before rinsing completely and this worked really well. I patted my skin dry and left a few minutes before inspecting LOL!
I was really impressed with the results and couldn't believe what a difference it made to my skin! My face felt much, much softer than before and looked clear and radiant! I now use this as a scrub a few times a week and about once a week I use it as a face mask and my skin has really improved. I would recommend this product to anyone who isn't exfoliating their face, as it makes a huge difference and I think the price is reasonable enough, considering how well it works. It retails at £18.50 here in the UK.

Fafi = love!

Well I am excited to see the new MAC collection; Fafi. It looks pretty cool, very vibrant fun colours, love the lipsticks but I gotta say I am not too keen on the eye quads. I may change my mind when I see them in person though, well it is a woman's prerogative!!! I wish you could still buy the Barbie line, that was lushness personified but never mind, there is always eBay LOL I am not 100% sure when we will get Fafi here in the UK but I'm hearing March 6th.....

Parfait Amour...

..is the MAC eye shadow that took me over and hour to choose last night! It was very stressful lol, people don't understand HOW stressful it was.... I need a lie down now I think...

Tuesday 22 January 2008

I heart MAC

There are so many eye shadow that I HAVE TO HAVE!!!!! Maybe I can get a few but how on earth do I pick them LOL It's so unfair, if only I could have every single colour!! Probably never have to time to use them all but never mind.....

Anyway, I have let Steven know that for my birthday, and MAC stuff would be greatly appreciated :D

Monday 21 January 2008

We won the lottery!!!!

Well, Steven won actually and it was only £31 but still - yay!!! We are getting a chinese for tea as way of celebration - thats how exciting our lives are! I will be too tired to do anything anyway though, as I am taking care of my baby niece today and she is HARD WORK!! I have no idea how my sister copes lol She is currently watching some terrible kids show called 'Little Red Tractor' which is basically 'Bob the Builder' and 'Postman Pat' mixed together.... well it keeps her happy anyway! I wanted to take her on a nice walk, but it is raining sooooooooo bad outside, so looks like we are staying home. When I cuddle her I just think I love her so much.. awwwwww soppy I know!

Well all that is left to say is, it is my birthday soon!

Friday 18 January 2008

I heart the MAC 239!

This isn't a review, just a quick word to say how much I love this blending brush. It was recommended on quite a few sites so I thought I would give it a go. It is soooo soft and perfect size for applying eye shadow and blending too. I find brushes so much easier than the sponge applicators because you can really control how much product you apply and built it up gently. This brush was soft but still firm enough to really blend into my outter crease. I was worried it might be hard to keep clean but I got the special MAC brush cleanser and that works like a treat!! It's lushness!!!

The MAC 239 retails at £17.00 in the UK.

Friday 11 January 2008

*sigh*

I am thinking of designing a new header, maybe with the mac/barbie promo pics????

Hmmmm...
